In just a matter of days, our world changed. Even we, who have been somewhat “buffered” from the whims of change, took a hit. Not only did we lose our catering and private chef clientele, but also our workshops, tours have been cancelled until further notice.
Our family, as with so millions around the world, is adjusting to the new norm and figuring out how we can serve our community during these uncertain times.
Life on the farm goes on. Here’s some eventful highlights:
April Showers It’s beginning to feel a lot like Seattle! After what looked like a dry winter, March and April have surprised us with above average rainfall. There was even snow on the mountains! Quite an usual sight to see in Spring. Such a blessing!
Urban Homestead Institute (our newly founded nonprofit) just received our official IRS determination letter. Now that we are an “official” we look forward to growing and funding our programs that will cultivate and nourish our community.
Farm Box Program has tripled it’s box program due to the COVID-19 crisis. There’s now a waiting list to sign up for a subscription and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we try to manager the growth sustainably. We’ve also had to vamp up and revamp our picking and packing operations as we take necessary safety precautions to provide food to our community.
